Yeah, I tried the first game (single player) when it was free on PS Plus but got totally bored quite quickly (same couple of enemies, same brown desert) and deleted it. I guess the second one is much better but I'm just not generally interested in the type of "shoot 'em and loot 'em" gameplay that it focuses on. Plus all those billions of guns give me anxiety.

Well i made the same assumptions about Borderlands & after about 3 hrs of play I sold it on here asap.
Then a year later i bought it again as Fader persuaded me to give it a proper bashing. Turns out he was right. I hadn't skated with it long enough!!.
Both are great games. The weapon variety is mahoosive & their cruelty is funny as hell, & the areas get more diverse as you get further in. It really felt like a 1st person Phantasy Star Online to me, & i remember putting 100's of hrs into PSO 1 & 2.
I'm chuffed about this version & the upcoming Vita release of Borderlands 2, which I'm really hyped for

I'm sure someone will tell me to play more of it, well, after playing 80 hours of it --mostly in co-op (with friends who also share the same sentiments)-- I feel like I can be negative about it.
I doubt even Telltale can save something which is already dead, but I'll keep an eye on it come release...
