Are there any add ons like I-cade or some sort of controller grip with actual buttons for iPhone or ipad that would work with this ?

Any bluetooth controller should work. I use a Wii controller with my Android devices sometimes when I don't have my actual bluetooth gaming controller handy.

Not with IOS unless you Jailbreak. Then you can use any Bluetooth controller. I like the Wii Snes pad personally.

On the subject of adding items which weren't in the original games, it's worth noting that Whitehead's work goes through Sega's senior management, who seem to exert a considerable degree of control over what does and doesn't make the cut. For example, the Sonic CD remake saw the inclusion of Tails given a green light, but the proposal to add extra zones rejected as not in keeping that the character of the piece. Hidden Palace is almost complete in the leaked Beta, and Sega appear to regard it as a "deleted scene" in the original game.

The iCade stuff uses US keyboard layout and Bluetooth but isn't iOS 7 game controller compatible. Games need to have iCade support built in. Works well though. I have the original iCade and it's great with action games.

A playthrough of the level plus how to access it. It's curious how they've modified the stage to fit into the larger game, and also thrown the Mystic Ruins boss in there.

While the levels were abandoned because of time constrains, it's a good point.

Don't make assumptions Shakey, unless you know the developers personally you don't know the reason it was pulled. Game developers on the whole aren't big fans of the press or rarely talk to them, usually what they say in the press is the publisher's spin.

Shame the music wasn't used from the sound test, the excuse Chris gives on twitter for it was very poor and I disagree heavily with him.
