I don't play cack. Although Bioshock Infinite was the 'worst' game I played this year.

It still wasn't that bad though. It had some good parts. I felt like I was in Blackpool most of the time.

Hehe! Obviously I'm trolling...just a little bit. I do however maintain that in terms of the hoped-for miraculous game we were promised, and the one wot we got, Bioshock Infinite is by far and away the worst game of the year. I'm not sure that I understand your comparison with the Zelda, Pikate, except that all adventures need to manage resource gathering. Every Zelda ever made does it better. Infinite handles it embarrassingly badly: search draws and bins and eat everything you can find! It's so bad you almost think it's done intentionally so. As for dataDave's comment about Blackpool, I know where I'd prefer to spend a night...and Cannon and Ball have a matinee on the pier!

It's the exact same mechanic in Zelda... Kill wandering enemies, cut grass, smash pots, open chests and collect the rupees/resources (i.e. new weapon, compass and map for every dungeon etc, clu jelly for potion, arrows, seeds for slingshot...). I suppose it's fine if you find the game engaging, it never bothered me in Wind Waker HD but it did grate in some Zeldas.

My point is I don't think it's a definitive flaw with the game, like you I hoarded my way through Infinite and the looking in drawers killed the pacing at times but on my second playthrough (for the hardest difficulty achievement) I just flew through it checking/upgrading nothing and my only problem was low ammo for the graveyard fight and the fireman on the airship near the end so the game doesn't force you to do it, I just think maybe your tolerance is higher in Zelda because you enjoy Zelda games more as a whole.

Every Zelda game is the same in theory, but it's the execution that makes them stand out as great games. The smart design of the dungeons etc. the gameplay is very polished (although a little too simple/easy for veteran gamers at times). BioShock Infinite is quite mediocre as a "game". It does the setting very well and has great art design, but as a game falls short. In my opinion of course, there are probably quite a few people who can't stand Zelda (they're wrong though )

Infinite is Pacman 3D with a Dixieland aesthetic. I did enjoy the story and music, mind.

I played Lost Planet 3 for about 3 minutes in multiplayer just to test the disc, but I'll play the main game eventually.
