Being from the X-Wing/TIE Fighter/Luftwaffe guy I'm thinking it's got to be classy.

This is going to be one of those where everyone starts saying, "Buy both" isn't it..?

Nah, haven't played SW. I too love TIE Fighter! Crimson Skies is very arcadey, but not in a piss-easy kind of way. If you pick it up, stick it on hard and you'll enjoy it. It has some really cool set pieces, kinda like TIE Fighter's mission structure (say, half way through a mission, you'll get a frigate appear you need to take down - Crimson Skies does the same with Zeps) and plenty of things going on on screen.

SW looks a little dry, tbh, and less of an experience than CS. That's why I haven't given it a whirl. Maybe I should... but CS is a great game though!
