I'm glad they've done well enough to merit a retail release as I think it's a great game. I play it online quite a lot with a mate of mine and we have quite a bit of fun with it. Was reading about the season mode and thought it was gong to be part of one of their upgrades but looks more like paid DLC now. Not to worry, I'll probably just buy the digital version rather than buying the retail version though.

The missus was chasing me for a golf game, at 30 squids this is too expensive. Now it's 11, I will consider it! Hopefully they'll add camera and move support at some stage.

This is now down to ?10.43 with PS+ and I must say, I'm enjoying it immensely!

Although sort of a fan of golf games, I never really got on with the Tiger Woods series as I didn't like being able to spin the ball in mid-air - the games always felt a little soulless to me. Although saying that, my all-time favourite was Mario Golf 64 and although this did have power shots, I felt the ball physics were more accurate and also more fun than in Tiger Woods!

This really strips the golf game down into, well, playing golf. It's not for everyone but if you like the more 'realistic' side of golf games it's definitely worth a shot.

    If you're a PS+ member it's now discounted to ?11.59: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwo...EGOLFCLUBHBSTU

Edit: Having now purchased it and played 18 holes I'd say it was worth a purchase at that price. It's actually nice not to have all the EA crap getting in the way of playing a round of golf.

Glad they're updating and improving it.
For me as an ex box gamer it's what I've been waiting for for over ten years, links 2004 on the original xbox was my favourite golf game ever, and this is very similar. The course creation software is very capable of providing some absolutely cracking courses in the right hands and literally ensures that there's 1000's of original and real life recreations to try out.
    I love it.

I'm keeping a close eye on this incase of any more price drops. Nothing like a decent golf game to chill out with / slowly drive yourself mental with.

Wow! This new update has really improved this game. I loved it before, but now it's bloody awesome. I've just finished two gorgeous courses, ascension bay definitive and tgc players' at shawnee creek. I've disabled v sync, depth of field, ball trail and follow camera and it's running like a dream on the courses I just tested. Camera 3 for general and putting too, and pressing x mid flight will track the ball or wait til it lands, or for either nice surprise or a nightmare, don't press it at all and wait til next shot. The game still needs more club choice and OOB and penalty drops, but it's really really good fun and is getting better as the months pass. Aside from metro redux, this is my favourite ps4 game.

Yeah, when I worked in SCEE there was a lot of this. I remember finding a major problem on a big name title that got held back here but went out in US.

Did Counter-Strike GO ever get a PAL PS3 release?

It could be, you have to deal separately with sea and see when publishing on psn, two lots of certification and two chances to fail. There have been occasions where one region has passed and the other hasn't, so they've had to hold back games or on occasion some have not bothered to continue.

It's how all bigger indie titles will be priced, defense grid two is double the price of the original but there is not a chance in hell that will last long. Heavy discounting culture has conditioned consumers to not buy games unless they are on sale, subsequently the RRP is being bumped up specifically so it can have a sale. The quality of the product or the actual price is irrelevant, people just want to think they've saved money.

And how many of those early adopters will purchase one of their games again at full RRP?

Have read somewhere that they wanted a discount at launch but the Sony EU red tape meant it took weeks to process. Could be true, could be bull.

Nice way of the dev to kick early adopters in the balls for paying full price three weeks ago, why on earth didn't they discount it at launch.
Because they wanted early adopters to pay full price?

Why didn't early adopters just wait could be the other question.
