Similar ideas to the last one with the bone breaking stuff and, for me, I'd be very happy for it to stay close to the last - I thought it was the most playable MK in years. Almost too gruesome for me in place though!

Loved the last one, awesome amounts of gore and a superb four player mode. I'm crap at one on one fighters so the giant input windows of MK9 suited me perfectly.

I do seem to remember some people on here proved their age by saying there was 'too much' gore. Hopefully they don't listen to those people and include even MOAR gore.

I don't associate mortal kombat with weak gangster rap.

              Like the redesigned costumes.

Indeed. Without the gore MK would have literally no appeal whatsoever.

Except to people who want a fun multiplayer fighter with pick up 'n' play controls, instead of 50 hit frame counting nightmares

I genuinely found quite a lot of the fatalities unpleasant. There was something funny about it in the past, but these ones were horrific!

To each his own. I thought they were cool and funny.

You act as if Mortal Kombat has no metagame. Smash Bros, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear - all can be considered pick up n play - mastery is the exception and it just so happens that MK is far less popular to sink time into.

Earlier iterations were a lot more limited though, granted.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to master Smash Bros. That's like going pro at kirby or something.

just something about mk 9 and injustice i just could not gel with it just felt like it was more rigid and stiff in structure compared to a lot of fighting games just felt it needed to be a bit more flexible and varied

they are good fun but i found with combos always stuck to the same few rather then trying to mix things up
