Yea Charlesr I was using the windows media centre extender method, I`ve since retired the media pc and have purchased a NAS.
In the mean time I have been using the play to option. The browser option is coming soon.

Yeah, I tried the media centre extender - dreadful, with no decent ways to sort or browse media and took all day to connect. It was like they had gone out of their way to make things complex and rubbish. But with a shared network folder it was instant.

Good to hear the browser option is coming though - hope they keep it simple.

Used by the privileged few apparently. Has anyone here got it?

The Plex app looks good from what I`ve seen. Ive started ripping my Blurays to 1080p mp4s and loading them onto my nas.
The xbone does a great job of playing these back across the network as it plays them natively so I don't need to bother with the nas having to transcode anything.

Care to share any of that boris?

Yeah, it must be in beta or only released to select people.

Just a warning to those of you if you are on the preview update, the last update has killed the wireless for lots of people.

If you are in the preview , I'd advise switching your machine to not be on instant on , so it cannot download the update.
If you are using ethernet, then you should be unaffected

I manually update mine (not in instant on mode) and it's fine. Guess it's random.
Wish the same could be said of my Macs after loading Yosemite

Did Yosemite cause you problems? I've had it from dev beta through to the final one and it's been ok

Yep. 3 different machines. My MacBook Pro is the worst one affected, the wifi crawls at a snails pace. The Mac Mini I fixed (made better) by deleting a load of wireless p.lists. Still not quite right yet.
The iMac crawls too, not used that since updating.

Right, they have put another patch out, but the solution should it affect you is to remove all USB devices including kinect and this will bring back the Wifi.
