True it would have been great to see a new mario game on it, still they gave us the advance series of games with added extras in. In fact mario advance 4 probably could sort of class as a new extra game as there was about 29 totally brand new & really great levels if you had the cards to add them in.

The shape of the original GBA is still the best, but my Micro reigns supreme. The SP was an excellent test of the clamshell design, but the squareness of it meant I couldn't play anything that involved holding it for any length of time.

      MICRO ALL THE WAY!

[for reference, I've owned every GB including the first version of the Pocket, and the Light]

I've not got the biggest hands, but the Micro is too small even for me to use for long periods. So the AGS101 it is!

Best for me was an afterburnered original GBA but there is no option for it

I had an afterburnered original but I must admit the last day it was ever turned on was the day the first SP was released. I loved the little clamshell form.

Interesting to see how well the Micro's doing considering it didn't sell as well as the other models

I was only really getting into gaming when the GBA came out and I never owned one till the micro which I love. I did borrow the original and the AGS001 from friends before I got a micro.

I've not tried a whole lot on the GBA, I've only really played Golden Sun and the FF games.

That was not really in any way related to the actual hardware though. It's because the DS was announced and Nintendo dropped the Micro even before it was out. There was no push and they didn't follow through on faceplates or anything. It was made redundant before it hit the shelves and Nintendo focused solely on the DS.

I just figured a lower vote count due to people not having tried it. I've been having a root about and it's nice how little on the platform has had inflated second hand prices hit them, you can get a really good selection of titles for next to nothing.

Yes, and there are some fantastic games on the system. The only problem is that there are a stupid amount of bootleg carts so you do have to be careful when buying. I rebought Minish Cap last year for less than a tenner locally.

Was one of the first games I ordered on buying the Micro, the diddy screen should serve it well and the WW art style always really suited it. If I had to levy a flaw with the GBA it'd probably be the sound, it got a fair few ports of games and always seemed to get fairly big cutbacks on audio. Perfectly serviceable though and it improved as they got better with the hardware.

I find the DKC ports are a good example of the visual curve, DKC2 then 3 look much better than 1. Gonna get me a fighter too, either SSF2TXR or SFA3U

Ah so much Micro love, just a shame Nintendo killed the thing off before it had time to shine although the crazy price tag on release didn't help it much. Nice that it now gets the attention it deserves, it's truly portable pocket size.

There's one with a Famicom faceplate going for $100 at a second hand shop here (that's about fifty quid). It has very minor scratches on the screen, reckon I can wipe those out with some Brasso?

I'd get one of them R3 carts and DL everything I want.

If they're faint it could be well worth a punt, seems a valuable model. I just went for classic silver. Got these incoming for just ?3-4 each:

Want me some Yoshi's Island too. Would have loved Mario RPG to get ported onto this thing,
