5,132 games though. These devices seem counter-productive to me. Unless you are immortal.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Thanks for the impressions and link, looks a decent unit for the money, how is it weight wise.
The 7" screen one sounds good.

Pic for those too lazy to click his link

Oh and yes I have played about an hour of sonic adventure. It is about perfect other than some occasional menu glitches and small issues (sonic's pupils sometimes slipped behind his white eye texture during the second cut-scene etc.) Sonic Shuffle didn't work for some reason, nor did Unreal Tournament which had horrible glitching textures everywhere (unplayable, but the. emu is only at .6 beta). Dead or Alive 2 worked fine, and Phantasy Star Online appears to work fine as well.

If you have any questions about how emus or games are working on this particular device I would be happy to answer but there are youtube videos of this device running most games as it has become very popular.

For a quad core device with a gig of ram and a decent GPU you really can't do much better. I will actually be a fan-boy of this "dodgy" company if they can keep pumping out devices of this caliber.

The weight is actually a bit of a sore point. A lot of people don't like it. The side-grips feel "cheap" or hollow to be honest. The guts have substantial weight but it does give the impression of being breakable. I haven't had any issues after a month that would betray poor build quality, but I do have to agree they should have done something about how light the sides feel if this was truly to compete in the US market.

That said it feels about as substantial as any recent JXD unit I have owned.

Just got home today and my shiny new JXD is here (all Chojin's fault). I wasn't quite prepared for how massive it is. Off to a show in Glasgow tonight, I'll post some impressions tomorrow when I've had time to try it out.

Yeah impressions would be good. I'd love to play some older stuff on the go and also stop the missus from whinging about my taking over the telly so often.

Chojin has done more with his than I have, so I'll try to get him to post some info. From what I've tried personally so far I can tell you this, anything I've tried from the 16-bit era back has been 100% spot on, including SFC (mode 7 stuff without flaws), MD, PCE, GBA, SMS, FC, NEO GEO, MAME. Also tried some DS stuff which seemed fine, but I haven't played the real system for comparison, so may or may not be ****e. Dreamcast is very hit and miss, but Chojin reckons I need to find better ISO's for that. I had a fair bit of grief getting a certain PSP game running, but with others like powerstone collection they ran 100% first time.

The only other stuff I've used it for is a bit of netflix, but I thought the sound seemed slightly out of sync. I would have to say it feels fairly decently built, I like the feel of it for use, it's very comfortable. A big selling point was that I could directly connect my PS3 HRAP to it via USB for fighting games which is brilliant, and I had a mini to standard hdmi lead delivered this week and tonight I'll be testing it out hooked up to my 60" plasma, it'll be interesting to see how it deals with that.

I believe for comparison that the 7800B I have is the same in size to a Wii-U game pad.

Thanks for that, my main interest is the DC and with the recent USB/SD loader they've created the forums are awash with people complaining about the quality of the old rips too as they were all tweaked/messed around with in order to fit on regular disks. There should be new grouprips (untouched) coming soon now these things are taking off.

How much did you pay for it and where did you order it as the prices appear to have shot up since I first looked at these and the regular sites I frequent have no stock.

Looking forward to Chojins input on the DC emulation

I the JXD at Play Expo and Mario Kart still didn't seem to run perfectly on SNES. Few other things I tried were excellent. Ocarina of Time looked really good. Sadly didn't get to try the DC.

Damn good price though. Nice unit.

In answer to my own video out question, pretty bloody awesome is the answer. This game has a little border for some reason, but everything else I have doesn't. I paid ?106 shipped from Funstock as I had a discount code.

Marty, I have Super Mario Kart on mine and it's probably the best emulation I've tried. Full speed, no glitches etc, so maybe the rom/emu they were using wasn't set up right?

Yeah, I was really impressed with the unit too at Play.Expo.

I've started leaving the flyer around the lounge for the wife to see, but I doubt she'll pick up on the hint and get me one for Christmas!
