Yeah and top down. Think limitations of 8bit and most of 16bit era. But using the colour palette, processing power of today's tech.

Hyper Light Drifter looks nice. Volgarr seem too Rastan for my tastes.

When I said Dark Souls, I mean translating its cautious combat, open exploration, souls system, coop and char and weapon building too. But, yeah having the charming graphical and sound presentation of the old days.

Hoolak, isn't La Mulana reckoned to be 2D equivalent of the Souls games? Been meaning to get it for Wii for ages. Is on Steam too.
