That is what it means, no?

You aren't a real gamer unless you played Deadly Premonition to the end.

I find it difficult to empathise with the lower life-forms that have not got past the ceiling monster.

I'd frisbeed it across the room in disgust almost before I got out of the motel after the first breakfast, that's how lowbrow and philistine I am!

Sorry, makes no sense. I feel like a dolphin (highest form of life on earth) trying to communicate with a biro.

Another way of classifying could be:

If there are issues with a game,
              1) chucks it or trades it, or just stops playing
              2) moans about it on the internet but keeps playing the other 90% of the game that works
              3) bothers going on the support forums and claiming that they will burn all their other EA games and close their Origin account, unless it's fixed (saw this today - Overwatch is still not working in NFS Rivals).

I buy the consoles/games that I want to buy. I've never cared for what anyone else thinks personally. I've never really played the same games that my friends have, so I never had anyone to share my tastes or even anyone that I could borrow/lend with. It wasn't really until I found the internet, and specifically NTSC-UK that I found others with similar tastes. I'm certainly elitist in my approach to gaming, and I probably fence myself in with my stance. However I'm no more or less of a gamer than anybody else. I play games at the end of the day.
                Kept you waiting, huh?

I hate it when people stereotype others different to themselves then say they don't deserve to live.

Those peoples are ALL THE SAME and should be rounded up and shot!

I think a gamer is anyone who cares about games and views them as a part of who they are and of their life history, who worries about the future of the gaming industry, and does not see them simply as a way to pass the time on a bus or on Facebook. It's inevitable that this gamer will occasionally get worked up and maybe look a bit foolish, but that's good.

Despite the 250m+ machines sold last gen it still does feel like you've broken wind out loud in a full elevator when you tell someone you like gaming, so awkward some times. Flip side is hearing or talking to someone who clearly has a heavy interest in gaming and all things related yet somehow, inexplicably, has got all their information wrong or doesn't knowas much as they think they do. Not always, but often that latter example is game shop store staff to a tee.

Best to just never tell anyone in real life that you like games. No one is ever engaged by that, unless they play them themselves.

I'll remind you of that when all we've got left to play is Candy Crush, you miserable sausage-eater! Anyway, if you don't worry, why can you be found spitting blood most days about corporate greed, M$, paid-for-demos and DLC?

Exactly my point, if the industry crashed we'd get rid of all the ****, EA , crapcom, DLC, early access , games that are alpha (BF4) ( before anybody says i blame EA) and host of other stuff, i'd shead no tears for all that.
