Judging by those IGN numbers, digital should be $19 cheaper for a start. Even more because you don't actually own the thing, you're just leasing it.

Guess the million dollar question is, if they halved the price would they sell more than twice as many?

I think the industry sees it as you are buying the game, so regardless of whether it's a download or on a disc there should be no difference in price, which I agree with. Packaging is irrelevant to me. I want to play the game, not look at the insert.

I see the retailer side of it now though. Some can afford to sell for cheaper than RRP, so will get the larger share of sales at the expense of profit. You don't get that with a digital store, but on the other hand I find that buying a download from a retailer is often cheaper than buying direct, so you can reduce your outgoings if you do a little research.
        Kept you waiting, huh?

Don't know about twice as many copies, but they could make a big dent to that used game market they so despise.

            No.

But as we are all consumer slaves, when they half the price as a SALE or SPECIAL more people buy it than would have otherwise and now everyone knows this, games are simply more expensive than they ever were, just so they can drop the price down and watch everyone flock to it.

Looks like Microsoft may have finally blocked US purchases via paypal ... Can't get Kinect Sports Rivals cannot be bought by Paypal anymore on the US store.

Looks like its back to VGP and physical for me then!

Hell would have to freezers over before I went digital. I'm effing furious after wasting 40 hours trying to get a game off psn for my ps3. I'd rather **** in my hands and clap.

It's been that way for a few week now, unfortunately.
You can still purchase USA credit where possible OR if you had a credit card attached to the USA account you should still be able to purchase with your card.
Just MS/paypal now checks for USA address matches your account when checking out, it never did that before.

Any particular trick on getting a CC card set up as mine current expired a while ago and I cannot get a new one set up on the website, just errors out every time. Using the usual Beverly Hills trick

Scratch that .. Working now .. Just needed a different phone no , which is now the beverely hills hotel!!!

I didn't realise Paypal no longer worked , must have missed that news.

UPDATE 2: Yeah still doesn't work

Balls to this ... Looks like credit card or debit cards don't work now either (not with my bank anyway - Natwest).

                        Back to physical it is!!

How about buying USA store credit from Amazon US, is that worth the effort/saving?

Nah cant be arsed with that .. Will just start using VGP again ... Most games are ?32 from there and the ones I want day one will just have to get at the inflated (scratch that well inflated) UK price.
