When Buzz Lightyear oft proclaimed "to Infinity and beyond!" we were never quite clear on what the "beyond" part was. N…

Turn on your PS4 and plug in your Disney Infinity base v1.0 to enjoy the new figures.

Own an Xbox? Gotta buy a new starter set.

Quite pleased that the new game is compatible with the ps3 base, and looking at the amount of characters we own it would be rude not to get this for the ps4, acording to ign

Your saves from Disney Infinity on Xbox 360 or PS3 will transfer to the respective new consoles, Disney confirmed to IGN. All characters, Power Discs, and Toy Boxes from Disney Infinity 1.0 are compatible with 2.0,
it seems that all they have added is marvel stuff i wonder if there is more than just marvel.

Totally not up to speed with Disney Infinity. Do the figures work like Amibo is going to, i.e. is there data stored on them? Or are they just a fancy unlock-code for on-disc DLC?

What's the relationship with the original and 2.0? Do the same figures work? etc.

Yup they store your progress, All the figures will be compatible with the 2.0 version, the first games starter pack came with 3 play sets (incredibles, monster university and pirates of the carrabean and a figure from each franchise. You can only use figures in there own playset so if you want to play two player you need another figure from that playset so you only ever need two figures for each playset.

Additional play-sets unlock different game worlds and they cost ?30 each and came with two figures and an unlock token that has to be Kept on the figure portal base thing to play that set.

The 2.0 version starter pack just seems to come with one playset avengers but the unlocks last time just unlocked stuff on the disk, it wasn't like dlc as it was already there, so I imagine this will be the same which is a bit of a con as all the levels where completed in the initial development time line so make of that what you will hopefully they will.

Wow. So how big is a "game world"? Like are we talking a level of a game, or a full game as big as something like Mirror's Edge or Resident Evil 4? As if they're more like a level, ?30 seems excessive (not really much of a figure collector).

Each new play set will give you 15 hours of play and there all unique the cars set has had upwards of 30 hours from my little boy and his friend and that was without them doing many missions or races,

Toy story had jet packs and third person shooting

Monsters inc was about traps and like a sandbox with stealth elements

The incredibles is a city based brawler

                          And

Pirates was an adventure game with sailing ship combat exploration and sword fighting.

Depends on what your approach to them is. I 100%'d them in 5hrs and despite the attempts each playset is effectively the same game reskinned. Certainly fun while it lasts but unless 2.0 provides real progression in design I'd stick to just the playsets that appeal most

My 3-year-old son would go nuts for this! He loves Disney movies, especially Toy Story, Wreck-it Ralph and Cars.

He watched The Incredibles for the first time this week and loves it!

There's no way I'm starting to collect the Infinity characters, that's going to be hella expensive!

Maybe I should hover around the sales thread until Supes gets bored and sells up!
