Man, you've opened my eyes. Video games are pointless, meh!

/me throws everything in the bin.

I guess it's the potential and what it's used for. When I watched the trailer, it excited me. It looks fresh, it looks exciting. Now what's the game going to do with all that potential? Oh, kill dudes. Okay... Killing enemies from Doom 3 is about the least fresh and exciting thing I could think of doing with all this stuff that looks fresh and exciting. Jet Set Radio, a clear influence, managed to find something much more inventive to do.

Admittedly, a lot of that is just me bored with that end of gaming. It just seems so played out at this stage. Even games with wonderful worlds and great ideas like Bioshock Infinite just boil down to killing guys. In a world of Flower, Fez and infinite game potential, it seems lazy.

It's sad we have to justify why a game looks fun. This looks great to me because it looks like a bright, colourful, gameplay heavy, shoot everything and charge around the map kind of game. Like in the olden days when we didn't have cutscenes breaking up the action and signposted hand-holding from start to finish.

The hanging off rails and grinding surfaces etc. looks really nice and colourful but it also looks quite pedestrian. It was incredibly slow in the official trailer. I would love this to be the next big thing but as it stands it made me think about Vanquish and how much faster and cooler it looked doing new tricks with third-person shooting years ago. Insomniac are first class developers, though, so you can guarantee it will be a lot fun to play.

I for one will not be happy with this game unless it comes with a small Filipino in the box that gives me a back massage while I'm playing. Games that don't have that are everywhere these days.

no small Filipino but you do get this awesome hoody

tis only a tenner more for the hoody version of this game, i think i will be gettig this one as that hoody looks ace like a road worker who has spilt paint all over themselves, then got attacked by a graffiti artists.

Jesus, that looks brilliant. I just need to convince myself it's worth buying an XBO.

Looking very nice. I wouldn't mind that hoody myself either. Best thing is I could wear that here in Japan without being classed as a scummy ass wipe just a shame it's a GAME exclusive

I think this game would have benefitted from a more distinct, stylish cartoony art style like Jet Set Radio or Okami perhaps. They should have gone "all out" with it, like it seems they're doing with the gameplay. Now it looks kinda ugly blend of cartoony and "realistic".

Looks like Serious Sam. Impressive visuals, not my cup of tea mind.

Sunset Overdrive's a blend of Crackdown and Jet Set Radio - and it's delivered with genuine enthusiasm.

Eurogamer gives the game a decent 8/10
