I've had an email apologising and could probably kick up a stink but not sure I can be bothered. Good CS would be to automatically offer some form of compensation as good will for all customers affected, but a lot of retailers don't do CS well these days.
Part of the problem with many retailers etc. is the cost/benefit ratio. Years ago, I frequently would be charged incorrectly by NTL - never a lot, just a few quid here, a few quid there. I remember calling up time and time again, one time having a heated argument with the bloke on the phone who seemed genuinely pissed off I was "wasting his time" over a ?4 overcharge. Fact of the matter is if NTL or similar do this to 200,000 people over a period of 6 months, suddenly it's not just ?4. I chase up every penny.

Sure, its all about minimising costs and maximising profit. Some retailers and operators go that extra mile but most don't.

I can remember years ago phoning up Vodafone to see whether the new phone I had ordered was back in stock or had an ETA. The chap on the phone apologised becuase I hadn't had an update and credited me ?30, which was the then cost of my monthly tariff. I never asked for it and whilst it's probably and example of goign above and beyond good CS suffice to say I remember it. Admittedly this is before the tax papers paid their tax for them!

Fwiw another two debits on the account today, followed by another credit. So that's 7 debits for 7 emails. Not even redeemed themselves by getting it to me early.

Yep im having further problems with GAME. For some reason they have decided to take ?500 from my bank yesterday and an additional ?100 today. I have nothing on order or pre-order. When i finally got through to them they didnt have a god damn clue. Been waiting all day for someone to call me back, but nothing.

Really unbelievable, I've never known anything like it. This is serious amounts of money, what the hell is their system doing.

^ Not good. That definitely deserves compensation. Further insult to injury...no game today.

Saturday edit: And nothing today either. Bit of a joke, this order.

One week on and still no game. I sent an email on Tuesday morning and GAME have acknowledged that the order is lost in transit and therefore an offer of refund or send me a another one (which I chose in my reply Thursday evening). They also acknowledged that they were still looking at a gesture of goodwill for those effected ('In regards to a good will gesture this has yet to be confirmed by the business but once this has been confirmed we will be in contact via email.').

In my view of this debacle the game should be free in this case but I doubt they will do that. So still no making Mario levels for me at the moment...

I'm guessing 10,000 GAME card reward points, sent to a card registered to one of your old addresses. Can't be used on the site, and can only be used in-store on new titles - but of course, the only new titles in-store are the "top 10" and they're ?10 more than Amazon already.

Got caught up in the Super Mario Maker payment debacle last week. Got the ?300-odd wrongly taken from my MasterCard put back in the end but that didnt stop me from going to my nearest GAME store earlier today to give back the game and get refunded on point of principle.

Don't even know why I ordered SMM from GAME to begin with - should've seen the signs after the Splatoon! nonsense.

I'm pretty much done purchasing from GAME online now. Have no qualms with spending cash in their stores as and/or when but for web purchases it'll be strictly Amazon, ShopTo and others from here on out.

...Oh, and am I missing something or are GAME deliberately lessening the amount of Nintendo stock they have readily available these days? Not much on display at the re-opened Walthamstow GAME in terms of 3DS and/or Wii U titles, only amiibo for the most part.

Yep it'll be a useless couple of quid off at best. Given they haven't delivered at all they should be doing something exceptional but they (and to be fair most retailers) won't.

I only left the order in becuase I couldn't login to the website to cancel. Order placed with Amazon today. Given I rarely order the special 'tat' editions GAME so often get, I'm probably unlikely to use them anymore either.
