Will be launch title for next console
Yeah this is my line of thinking, i think they holding back Metroid and F-Zero etc for the same reason.

      Hmm, overall a mixed bag.

The Robot Chicken/Reggie/Iwata stuff cracked me up, and all of the games looked good, but too much "2015" when the console really needs some killer titles for Christmas (I was very surprised they didn't push for Zelda this Xmas).

I really want to play Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Smash Brothers, The Zelda Scrolls and Mario Maker - but I'm not getting a WiiU now for a while, as I'm worried that by the time they're released, the console will have seen a major price slash and be floundering.

There's a separate one? As the Pokemon remake didn't really do much for me (played Y, probably hold off another three or four revisions before another one).

In the end thats the story of E3 2014 ... .2015

You don't think they might be holding any other games back for E3 next year?

They will keep the WiiU around for at least another three to four years.

If they holding stuff back for next year than theres little chance of any of next years announcement appearing until 2016. Or another possibility is they are holding things back for the Tokyo Game Show. I say this every year but ever the optimised

Definitely not TGS; Nintendo don't patronise it. They have been known to make announcements at the same time of year, but not with any consistency (TGS is really about Square-Enix, Bandai-Namco, Sega, Konami, Tecmo Koei, Capcom, SNK Playmore and all the smaller Japanese and Korean devs, including mobile games many of which we never see in the west).

Has there been any news about a worldwide release for Pok?mon?

That made X and Y so fantastic to play!

Not gonna lie, that was one of Nintendo's weakest E3's for a long time. They usually are pretty strong despite the games not selling but what we ultimately got was fluff. Zelda looks lovely but so little was shown that it's no guarantee to meet its Xmas 2015 release so not sure how much weight it carries atm, Smash Bros U should have been front a centre with a date, most everything else was announced a long time ago and even then it's nearly all 2015.

Certainly nothing beyond the vaguely dated Smash Bros to keep WiiU's head above water. I know the 2015 conundrum has plagued MS and Sony too but Nintendo has been on market a full year... a year! more than them. They should have absolutely owned this in terms of reveals given this years show covers the period of the WiiU's half life, the whole thing smelt of the theory that they've never had much resources going on in development for WiiU. Zelda will be the next potential system seller post Smash Bros by the looks.

There's certainly enough scattered of a decent enough level that existing owners will find some joy but I've no doubt now that E3 2015 will hang on Zelda and E3 2016 will be the unveling of the WiiU's imminent successor.

Has Devils Third been mentioned, Wii U Exclusive by Itagaki.

Looks like insane nonsense in a good way!

Can't see it myself.. The wiiU is going to look seriously out of date by then. And there are very few third parties supporting it.

Plenty there to keep me occupied. Bayonetta 1 & 2, Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS, will have me happy for ages, though I thought the 3DS version was coming this "summer". October seems a bit late if they want the Wii U version out before xmas, which I presume they do. Plus Samurai Warriors 4 is Sony exclusive (might be wrong, but I haven't seen it announced for a Microsoft console), and I've gone with an Xbone, so Hyrule Warriors is now top of my most anticipated list. Some of the Indie stuff looks awesome as well.

Why is Mario Maker taking so long? 2015? I was expecting a stealth release in time with the presentation.

Also Devils Third looks hilarious. Was watching trailers on YouTube with the missus, thought I would be alright just letting them play in order. Yoshi went down very well with her, then Devils Third came on and she spent the next 3 minutes in shock, while I laughed my arse off.

Good showing, but like MS and Sony it says 'nothing to see here until 2015'. Still that is good news for new adopters who have back catalogue to play.

not sure why still people are saying 'nothing to play' on the wiiU, for me its got by far the most titles that have longetivity in them to keep going back too over and over for many months to come, Games like Infamous2 on Ps4 are great for the few days they take to complete and then they are never played again,

I have every console of the next gens and a gaming PC and its always the WiiU that gets the most use..

Exactly. I'm approaching 200 hours with The Wonderful 101 and I feel like I'm only scratching the surface in terms of being able to play it how I want (100%ing it, I'm one-third through very easy. lol).

I don't know how anyone can justify spending over a tenner on stuff like Infamous. It's incredibly shallow.
