The undoubted losing platform has to be Vita. I know theres some easy ports of other formats stuff coming but even the baffling launch of PSTV couldn't pry a proper game reveal from out of Sony. A shame to see so little faith in it from its parent company but given that was its fourth E3 its clearly over as a major format in their eyes outside of shunting stock as a ps4 peripheral for the most part.

Yeah it always seemed like Sony didn't care about the Vita, and now it's official!
A lack of even one 'big' game was really no surprise. It keeps trucking as a good system for fan of niche Japanese games though, particularly visual novels, JRPGs and rhythm action titles.
Poor old Vita. Makes a snazzy paperweight for those who aren't fans of the above genres and don't own a PS4.

Anyway, I'll give my vote to Nintendo, based alone of the number of games shown I'm interested to. Sony's a second, and in their whole presentation, I only cared about Magicka 2. MS...eh, I hope in some Japan-only game for the XBO.

I wonder if either of the other big two will copy this presentation format for next year? Are they capable considering 80% of what they show being pre-rendered?
Although it looked a little shonky you have to give props to Miyamoto & Co. for showing off those prototypes. Better to show something in prototype form that's running on the actual hardware than some pre-rendered bull**** where the finished product ends up looking like around 10% of what was promised.

It's really telling that despite all the issues with the Nintendo conference (missing fan favourites like F-Zero, Metroid and no real showing of Starfox, no new major Mario title, most stuff being 2015, trailers like the Zelda one being a bit light on info) it's still the highest voted of the three.
I don't know about anyone else, but I was amused more by the trailer for Splatoon than anything else.

Certainly on the 3DS, they've done well overall. Mario 3D Land, MarioKart, Fire Emblem - I think they've been up there with the better handheld games I've ever played.
EDIT: There's a point - I really want to see WaveRace and 1080 sequels on the WiiU, but ideally ones that follow the original template for both titles more closely.Last edited by Asura; 12-06-2014, 07:16.
