    Gran Turismo 7 (PS4)

Yamauchi isn't amazing with deadlines but it's been essentially confirmed the next GT which will be for PS4 will be a numbered sequel (barring Concept, Academy etc editions).

Yamauchi has said the game will keep GT6's physics model and would aim to be out in a year or two. I'd expect it to be a bells and whistles GT6+ then.

Gran Turismo's replays are more entertaining than the driving itself. It's just the same game with prettier visuals.

I'm interested in the CarPG elements. 5 was pretty dull. If they include some really nice and incentivising ideas, then I'm in. Will probably be in regardless .

        Gran Turismo 7 (PS4)

We all knew it would happen. Just a question of when there was any new info released.

Polyphony Digital is at work on Gran Turismo 7, and it's likely that the standard cars whose heritage stretches back to…

Couple of details confirmed today by Yamauchi, doesn't install much confidence this bit...

And when Gran Turismo 7 does come around, the standard car models that persist from 2004's Gran Turismo 4 will most likely feature.
And this comment on Eurogamer is the exact thought I had when reading it, who is he kidding, kerching.

"I don't think it'll be a Prologue" he said (meaning they'll be working flat out on the full product)

        GT7 Prologue: confirmed!

The series is a joke imo. Rebuild it properly.

Weird isn't it, I would rather have 5% of the cars but all new build with interiors etc.
Quality over quantity any day of the week.

If you want more cars than you can ever drive buy GT6.

So wish this was out this year as love the series and after the sheer disappointment of Forza 5 and the dullness that was, cant come soon enough.

Still play gt6 most weeks today.

I fire up GT6 once a week mainly for the new content/seasonals each week.

Would rather they take their time with GT7 and make it as good as it can be than rush it. Knowing Polyphony it will be out October 2015. Maybe.

MotoGP 14 is great if you enjoy racing on two wheels too HH.

The GT4 models will be OK as long as they're skinned with decent textures.

He's basically just confirmed that it's GT6 Remastered. Sadly that means Gran Turismo 8 will almost certainly be dragging PS2 stuff over as well. I enjoy the series but it needs extensive work. I'd still happily see Yamauchi go, I think he holds it back as much as he helps. GT6 is highly enjoyable but it's very much pushing what's acceptable in many ways on PS3 and not in terms of pushing the hardware. They had a perfect window to capitalise on Forza's misstep but I fear Forza will be doubling for Forza 6 and that series will soon overtake GT for me.

The handling of 6 is very good but overall it feels a sloppy product. They need to remove all the old cars to start. Then replace the sport models such as MR2, Celica etc with one model premiums and not millions of variations.
Then sort the terrible AI and actually make it a proper racing game.

How can they keep using old car models when the ps4 has even more graphics power to do them properly ?

I played gt6 for a few hours and got bored and not touch it since.

Think I'll give it another go now there's been loads of updates.

Get rid of all the cars, start again and aim for 100 - 200 models with new tracks.

Every game deserves a fresh start and carrying excess baggage from past games and zealous fans does no good.

GT5 models were Ps4 proof they said. I say those cars are rather old once GT7 is out. Shouldn't a driving simulator boast new cars?

Whats wrong with the cockpits of Drive Club? GT should dial down on that crap, focus on things to make the racing more authentic. Such as decent sound for once.

GT is in decline yet a lot of fans are denial about this. Don't they see the numbers? Its going down since 5. PD may boast some 10 million but god knows how they doctored that. GT5 NPD debut was weak as was Japan and UK I think. Perhaps XL, Academy, bundling, offers etc carried it towards that. GT6 was even weaker and proved yet another misstep; should've been a PS4 release.

But seriously I loved this series right up to GT4. I want it to be at the top of its game again.

Polyphony was for me always a developer that went for perfection and delivered very sophisticated packages. The disparity and laggyness in GT5 onwards doesn't compute with them. Reading the GT7 news doesn't bode well, I fear PD is another one of those developers forever stuck in the past. Here's hoping CARS will deliver.
