Hamster tennis - new EA game for PS4 and XboxOne

Controversial new EA game for PS4 and Xbox One (and probably mobiles too) - it's basically mario tennis, but you use hamsters instead of balls. The idea is that when they hit the ground they can change direction or try and grab hold of the turf. They roll up into a ball while airbourne. Free to play, but the hamsters wear out so you need to buy new ones every few days, but there are training options, so you can pay for a spare hamster that you train to swerve with swipes on the screen, with power-ups from different food types (also purchased).

Typical EA rolling out another game with micro payments.

I'm 90% sure Alan Partridge had this same basic idea in about 1999.

            Ha, close!

            It was Monkey Tennis.

An exasperated and desperate Partridge is pitching ideas which are all rejected.
Panicked, he finally resorts to making suggestions off the top of his head and makes a last attempt - Monkey Tennis.

So there you have it, EA. You've created a game that is the physical embodiment of a joke notion to represent the absolute lowest common denominator of ideas. Then monetised it.

            Well done, you.
