Atlus are busy remaking the second Etrian Odyssey for the 3DS, in a similar fashion to what they did with the first. The game is named Shin Sekaijuu no MeiQ II Fafnir no Kishi (The Knight of Fafnir), and will have a story mode following five characters, reworked graphics, and so on. While I appreciate the effort, I hope this won't be like the first EO remake, EOII had many things that could have been improved.

New details are trickling in, like multiple save files (one on the cartridge, 8 on the SD card) and the Highlander class from the the first Etrian Odyssey Untold; the Highlander class was for story mode only in EOU, and in EOU2 will be for classic mode (possibly the class' skills will make an appearance in story mode as grimoire skills).
Unfortunately, the class will be DLC in Japan, but it will be free for the first months after release.
Still no word on an American (or even European) release, but I guess it's just a matter of time before Atlus US announce it.Comment
