We currently have a generation where the sun shines out of Sony's bum no matter what they do and MS are the pantomime villain. Apparently we have to stick to this rhetoric no matter what happens.
If I only owned a PS4 I'd be more worried that they've sold 10 million consoles and nine months down the line still can't be bothered to add simple needed functionality like pausing and re-ordering downloads.

I echo those who say 'what's the big deal?' too. I've seen so many comments on Eurogamer to the effect that 'MS have pissed off the entire gaming community'. They haven't pissed me off. If you were really that desperate to play the game, you could just buy an Xbox. I'll probably pick up a PS4 rather than a Bone (when I eventually upgrade) but I'll happily play the GOTY version in 2016. No biggie. As others have said this stuff has been going on forever, I'm amazed that people are so angered by a game becoming exclusive. And it's only temporary for chrissakes!Last edited by wakka; 14-08-2014, 09:36.

Sony need to get their butt into gear, because with the exception of one game (Last of Us, a PS3 game no less) I fail to see any reason to buy a PS4 currently. And that doesn't look like changing anytime soon either.
Yet again Sony sells a crap load of hardware, and yet again they forget the simple things ..like supplying games for it. But here comes the 'Evil' Microsoft (cue Imperial March music) to take all those games away ... its pathetic ... If the situation were reversed it would be all 'Well Done Sony' and 'Sony have just won this generation!!' .. etc..
The gaming community is currently the no more than a bunch of pathetic, self entitled bunch of arse heads ... Or SonyGaf as they are better known ...

If the situation were reversed. But it isn't reversed so we don't know what the fallout would be had Sony grabbed TR as an exclusive. You're just speculating. There's a reason for the current general feelings toward Microsoft and they're not really doing much to swing that around. This latest stunt hasn't helped. Nothing on PS4 for you, nothing on Xbox for me. That's why we chose our respective platforms I guess! Disappointed I'll have to wait for Tomb Raider but there's no shortage of games out there to choose from.

So come on kron and badboy, we all know the situation and we don't need the XDL (Xbox Defence league) jumping out every time someone dares to say anything slightly negative about Microsoft's decisions its getting old.Last edited by Lebowski; 14-08-2014, 10:43.

So why now the big outcry ?

The Next Tomb Raider is Xbox One Exclusive
In principle, I dislike it because it's pretty shady business. In any other industry, these kinds of exclusivity deals would invite accusations of anti-competitive business practices as competition is being subverted by certain products being artificially restricted to specific formats. It highlights the fact that the gaming industry has not quite reached that level of business maturity where such questions might be asked.
But in the current context, they all do it and they're all as bad as each other. I would simply suggest that such business practices should not be acceptable. I said the same thing in 1997 when Sony paid for the Tomb Raider 2 exclusivity.

There was a f*** ton of bitching about Bayonetta going Wii U at the time. But Bayonetta or Fatal Frame aren't as big of deal for the majority as Tomb Raider either.
Thing is, there would not be a Bayonetta 2 without Nintendo putting the money behind it, so it's not really the same case as this.
