Figured for this one we'd revisit what used to be one of the most common threads knocking around, the games collection.

Over the years many of us have discussed our attempts to thin our collections out or to acquire rare items and collections. The recent buys, gaming spends and related items threads are all testament to just how much money we spend on gaming as a hobby each year. Should someone one day add the yearly totals in all the Gaming Spends threads it'd be a high number but still just a mere fraction.

So, to keep it simple, the poll relates purely to how many consoles/PCs etc you currently own. However, feel free to go into detail about the current extent and direction your collection is in.

My gaming "collection" has been affected over the years by what might be hints of bipolar. Around August 2012 I decided I was done. I sold everything and aside from the odd console purchase and then sale until around Feb 2013 (when I bought my super slim PlayStation 3) I was only playing the MMO TERA on computer. Since then I've been buying all sorts of stuff to rebuild.

I've repurchased quite a lot of the stuff that I hold in high regard, but still a few items allude me that I used to own - like a debug PlayStation 1.

In regards to games I'm purchasing Squaresoft RPGs, highly acclaimed PlayStation titles from my youth and quirky Japanese titles that I may have overlooked. Also looking to get a decent amount of the more common Japanese Saturn and Dreamcast stuff as well as the same kind of situation for PlayStation 2 as PlayStation.

And my gaming PC which has the modest spec of i5 3570K/8GB RAM/GTX 670.

PC-Engine - Running an everdrive.

I do have a couple of additional DC consoles that came in bundles I need to sell as well as some games, but not counting them as 'mine'.

Xbox 360 - all the rock band/ guitar hero games. And a couple of others.
Wii u - 5 games, 3 unplayed (probably never will)

Wii and GameCube in a cupboard somewhere ready to go when someone needs one.
Various jap n64 games and a few PlayStation games knocking around.

So not a lot really.

Xbox 360 Go E 250 GB - Under the TV as my main console and own 8 physical games
PSone - In a box with around 12 games
Nintendo 64 - US Model with 10 games, packed up like my PSone in the office, although I plan on putting both under the TV soon
MacBook Pro - late 2012 model and bootcamped with Windows 7. Don't really game on this but dabble from time to time

I think I've found a happy medium after switching consoles for years after trying to recover as a serious collector. My PSone & N64 are keepers, I'll play my 360 till there's good stuff on the current generation of consoles and once I dip back in, I'll keep but put the 360 away. I've regretted getting rid of the 360 too many times to let it go again.

The reason for more than one of a console is because of different regions. Have had quite a few more but the only console I regret selling was a PC Engine Duo R. Will be joining the next-gen party in a couple of weeks when my Xbox One arrives too!

Tell me about it lol! I decided to actually go next gen rather then upgraded current gen with PS4/Xbox One...

In all honesty though, retro gaming is still where my gaming time is mostly spent...
