Despite some recent internet drama claiming otherwise, there isn't going to be a shortage of consumer graphics cards due to AI (they're sitting on the shelves due to lack of demand), but that doesn't mean NVIDIA isn't selling dedicated cards for that task (and making a lot of money from it).

Ooof, time to upgrade those SSDs - Starfield is going to take up 140GB on PC: https://www.ign.com/articles/starfie...-gb-on-console

New "budget" AM5 CPU - the boards are still a bit pricey on the whole, mostly due to board layer complexity (needed to reduce signalling issues), still for those not wanting higher-end chips, it might be worth a look: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/am...-us-and-europe

And another Steam Deck killer, this time from Lenovo. News of this broke a few days ago, but there are new image leaks now and it looks like this is going to have Switch like (or maybe lite) controllers, complete with mouse scrollwheel.
Lenovo is working on a new handheld gaming console to go up against Steam Deck and Rog Ally, and we've got exclusive images with it!
(Oof, I think everyone has been linking to the site and it's DDOSed it )
Another link with working images: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo....741845.0.html
(I believe Windows Report was the first to break it).Last edited by MartyG; 17-08-2023, 12:44.

As usual, not a fan. It's become all too common for these devices to dive on in with copying what's already out there without really understanding why the originals work so well. The Switch elements look like they're there purely for the sake of it, the Deck elements look less comfortable than the device its immitating. If people want something Deck-like they might as well get that, if they want something like a more powerful Switch they might as well wait 12 months at this point.

Another thing that hints at Legion Go’s power is these huge air vents on the back of the device, alongside a stand that will help when you want to pair another controller. We can’t say anything about the noise levels yet, but we’ll surely test it as soon as it will be available, so stay tuned for that!
Removable controllers is always a good idea, it means you don't have to tear the system down like you do on the steamdeck to replace sticks. the switch lite is a real problem where this is concerend and with the steam decks controlers using the same sort of tech it will be a problem for it down the line too.

Ah no, wait - that's an emulator, here's the PC port. It looks like you need to be logged into GitHub to download it: https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/perfect...uns/5879598251
Uncapped framerate and resolutions without the dodgy XBLA aiming. It's bliss. Would love to see a new game built out of this one day. If only my C wasn't non-existent.
The same guy is now working on optimising the N64 version with real hardware under consideration. A locked 30FPS might be possible.
