No more club Nintendo gold/platinum rewards for you

Got an email this morning from Nintendo saying that they will be doing away with the rewards ranking, this year will be the last time they have ranking rewards on offer, but considering this years gift is a crappy calendar & a digital download of a club nintendo picross plus game i can't say i'm too upset, the rewards have been getting rubbish over the last few years.

As far as i'm aware the regular goods page will still be in place but you'll no longer find points in hardware purchases, only games will have points in them.

So far only Japan has implemented this but i expect all the other club regions to follow.

Never had Gold/Platinum CN rankings in Europe anyway does this likely mean the CN rewards will get even further and fewer between (if that's even possible)?

Club Nintendo / groan...I've got six or seven unredeemed scratchcards here that I can't face typing in for fear of having to grind through all that survey crap again and again.

I doubt Club Nintendo Europe could get much worse anyway to be fair. I wish I'd gotten one of those Wii SFC pads though, I'm loathe to pay ?35 for one.

We only had digital download choices for NA this year. I took Donkey Kong Country Returns for 3DS, would have preferred Animal Crossing of course.

the last two uk thing have been a yoshi soft toy and a kirby soundtrack, i don't see how getting rid of club Nintendo is a good thing.

They aren't getting rid of club Nintendo, they are getting rid of the gold & platinum rewards. And i never knew europe didn't have club rankings lol super shafted.

Yep no ranking in Europe, just the odd pencil case or something added to the stars catalogue every couple of months.

Golgo, the longest surveys are for the 50 free points ones, sure 90% of people just click the first answer all the time. If you do a few in a row you can get in to a rhythm and fly through them. Some of the older codes do have expiry dates on too.

I'm surprised nintendo didn't set up a club where you have to just deposit money into an account for them for nothing in return, then you have to write them a thank you letter for the privilege.
