I have known about these for a while but quite frankly they creep me out quite a lot so i never delved too much into reading up about them, it's their black souless dead eyes (shudder) however Amazon Japan were flogging the games for the princely sum of roughly ?3.60 each so i decided to risk them for the curiosity factor.
It's known as Dwarf dictionary: dwarf mysterious experiments set, there are 2 games in the series.
Imagine you took pikmin & beat them within an inch of their lives with a whole forest of ugly sticks, and that's pretty much what you get with kobito. It looks a bit like boku no natsuyasumi with the lush natural enviroments but with a huge pinch of uglyness over everything even the main human characters have a very disturbing look to them. You basically explore the enviroment creating & deploying traps to catch the ugly buggers, sort of a fake nature collecting sim.
The box art has that weird hand drawn 1970's Japanese toy box illustration kind of look, repulsive & yet im intrigued by it.
Oh and because the illustrations are not bad enough here's some of it in motion lol, apologies to those who are eating
And for those who really want to go all out, here is a episode from the dvd series, yes they made those god awful ugly things into a tv series. Highlights of the clip include drugging them by spraying them in the face with whiskey before putting them in a cage in the kids bedroom to watch them fight, lol i'm not even making this stuff up it's mental lol
