Early version compared to full release ?

i posted in blog a question and wanted to know from the people here

What games have you played perhaps either alpha beta or even a demo where the final version was a lot different ?

thought about this when in the comments on tekken 7 videos the people who were complaining the response was its a early test version. But i do not know many games that have changed that much before release

The recent Dark Souls 2 preview bait-n-switch was easily as bad if not worse, but they got away with it as the game was at least good.

I've played quite a few of these, being a big MMO player, though they can be surprising.

The worst is when you play a game at TGS or Eurogamer, and upon buying it feel lied to. An example would be that I played the Zone of Enders collection at Eurogamer, and it was 1080p/60fps, but when it came out on consoles it was nowhere near as smooth.

The PS3 version was later patched to be a bit closer, but I still think it fell short of that demo, which must have been running on a powerful devkit.

Man alive at the dark souls 2 pre release footage :O That's appalling.

Colonial Marines is disgraceful too. It's not like that pre release stuff is even taxing at all. Looks like something you'd see in your average run of the mill budget shooter and they couldn't even pull that off!?

Isn't Gran Turismo quite bad for this sort of stuff? The main one that come to mind other than that is CoD 3 (or was it black ops?)- the video where the guy doesn't fire a single bullet in the entire mission.
