Confirmed that Starfox Zero requires motion controls which can't be disabled

    Comment

Just watched the full vid and I'd say it really does feel like Nintendo is trying to limit the resources used on WiiU and 3DS now pretty hard. If NX doesn't have a outstanding AAA line up backed up when revealed... well...

Told you! Miyamoto won't let Nintendo just make a normal Starfox game! It has to do something else.

I really want to get a job at Nintendo and make a Zelda game, but insist it replaces all combat with real-time strategy, and tell Miyamoto he can't make another Zelda unless they are similarly compromised with something no-one wants shoe-horned in.

Apparently it will play like Sticker Star which isn't going down well
Oh for the love of gawd...

How hard is it to make a proper sequel to Thousand Year Door?

Even I was a fan of the first two and I hate RPG type games.

This Nintendo obsession with stupid hardware/software gimmicks is really beginning to grate.

Motion controls shoehorned into a new game of a major Nintendo franchise on their worst performing home console ever in a feeble attempt to justify the use of the worst Nintendo peripheral this side of the Wii Zapper.

Unless Starfox Zero is averaging 8s and 9s out of 10 in reviews I think I'll be swerving it, and I say that as somebody who is a fan of the franchise.

Starfox looks utter pish, plain and simple.

I think that's probably harsh. It looks a damn sight better than it originally did.

Don't you hate the fact that you have multiple control options? Being gamepad only should be up your street.

Why can't there be both? Let those who want to play it with Gamepad do so but also cater to those who just want a straightforward control scheme with the Pro Controller?

I just hate that Gamepad-only play is being forced. This is the legacy left by lame peripherals that have no real justification.

Because both options are confusing, or something.

Anyway, it's a Nintendo title co-developed with Platinum. I think the way the game controls should be the last concern on anyone's mind.

Besides, you can toggle the cockpit view with "-".

Eh? You're serious? Of course the way the game controls matter.

Who develops the game is irrelevant if the controls aren't adequate in that respect.

I mean, do Nintendo and Platinum have a history of constantly putting out games with inadequate controls? That's my point.
