I mean I'm not one of these people who dislike PS360 gaming; far from it - but I prefer when console games stick within their means, and don't strain against them. For instance, I loved Mass Effect 3, but by the end of the game, I grew very tired of its variable performance. I just want my games to run at their best, all the time, irrespective of what's happening onscreen.
Then again, I'm the kind of person on PC who'll always sacrifice visuals to get a consistent 60fps, decent resolution and filtering to prevent flicker.
I sometimes miss the days when I played things like Soul Reaver on the Dreamcast, which were previous-gen but running on much more powerful hardware. I like how Nintendoland seems to have a similar aesthetic.
So technically, no, it's far worse than something like Watch Dogs running on PS4 - but I personally would prefer to see more games that look like this.

Mario 3D world
Pikmin 3
Mario Kart 8
New Super Mario Bros / Luigi Bros U
Nintendo Land
Bayonetta 2
Mario Maker
The controller does look a good bet - is the pad the only controller that comes with it?

Also, if you have Wii remotes lying around, many games (like Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Nintendo Land) support them too, which is nice.Last edited by Guts; 29-12-2014, 09:09.

I'd imagine the Pro Controller would be a good choice for especially Bayonetta and it's also nice because it has great battery life (unlike the pad) and it's lighter and more traditional in form than the pad. It's by no means a mandatory purchase but I can still recommend it.

Speaking of the gamepad, has anyone noticed the following. Switch the wiiU on with the gamepad, console boots up, switch the selection to tv, analogue stick fails to move on tv, switch back to gamepad and analogue stick works fine for selecting icons etc. Noticed this last week and it's bugging me.Last edited by fishbowlhead; 29-12-2014, 10:11.
