    Another cutesy Nintendo game. Woo.

Epic Yarn was something of a novelty with its art style so I got some mileage out if it but overall I'd be comfortable saying that the Kirby franchise is easily one of the weakest on Nintendo's books. They've struck gold that it sells well as there's obviously an appeal to them for many but as games go they're weak, by Nintendo's platformer standards outright appalling. Won't be going near this one.

Best cover art ive seen in ages, hopefully the EU version is the same.

There certainly are some weak entries in the franchise (Mass Attack I found to be incredibly dull) but Power Paintbrush on the DS was excellent, and this is essentially a sequel to that in terms of gameplay, so I'd keep an open mind.

            Adventure on Wii is excellent.

As a 34 year old gamer Kirby offers no challenge and has no appeal.Fortunately I can play the game through the eyes if my 5 year old son.

Why do all games have to be aimed at us Veteran old fart gamers?

I have an 11 and 7 year old, and the excitement of Mario Kart and Mario 3d World this Christmas has been fantastic. It's like a dad with a son who wants an RC Car. Sure it's a toy, but Daddy loves it just as much!

Probably seems a bit churlish, but I'm not fussed about it purely because it looks the same as Power Paintbrush/Canvas Curse for the DS, admittedly with a very nice visual sheen. Not that PP/CC was a bad game, but I played it to death and it was a gimmicky title; I don't really see the need for more.

That being said, that game is probably over 10 years old now so likely the audience for this wasn't even born then, or certainly hasn't played the original to death. It'll probably be great fun for them.

Really liking the look of the new Kirby but there is one thing putting me off getting it - Surely you will need to be looking at the gamepad screen all the time rather than 40"+ of HD goodness on the TV?

Compared to Assassin's Creed, every Kirby game is a masterpiece of gameplay design and player challenge.

Given the young age of player Mario covers I find it hard to believe that Kirbys buying audience is as low as the games design would suggest, I just think the Mascot/art style appeals to a loyal core. Either that or its Sonic syndrome where there was once a great entry I missed and people keep returning hoping for another high point

They don't. But it would be nice if Nintendo tried to cater like they used to.

That's reassuring. Of couse, they may still ruin it by adding some pointless blurb of text, like they did to the otherwise lovely canadian release's cover of Pikmin 2.

An electronics chain here in Norway is offering the Wii U basic at ~?86 for a limited time. Shame I already have a US system.

That is crazy! Nintendo UK have charged me ?85 to have my gamepad repaired and it's been with them since the last week of November. On top of that, the service has been nothing short of lousy.
