Epic Yarn was something of a novelty with its art style so I got some mileage out if it but overall I'd be comfortable saying that the Kirby franchise is easily one of the weakest on Nintendo's books. They've struck gold that it sells well as there's obviously an appeal to them for many but as games go they're weak, by Nintendo's platformer standards outright appalling. Won't be going near this one.

Why do all games have to be aimed at us Veteran old fart gamers?

Probably seems a bit churlish, but I'm not fussed about it purely because it looks the same as Power Paintbrush/Canvas Curse for the DS, admittedly with a very nice visual sheen. Not that PP/CC was a bad game, but I played it to death and it was a gimmicky title; I don't really see the need for more.
That being said, that game is probably over 10 years old now so likely the audience for this wasn't even born then, or certainly hasn't played the original to death. It'll probably be great fun for them.

Given the young age of player Mario covers I find it hard to believe that Kirbys buying audience is as low as the games design would suggest, I just think the Mascot/art style appeals to a loyal core. Either that or its Sonic syndrome where there was once a great entry I missed and people keep returning hoping for another high point
