Really not getting the constant negativity towards the wiiU. Yes the console has its problems which have been discussed and analysed to death on here.

Where it really matters however, exclusive games, it really shines.

Whatever happened to just playing and enjoying well designed games eh?

Tell me where they are and I'll enjoy them. Meanwhile, I'll stick to playing the creatively safe B list Nintendo output.

From a personal point of view I'm not bothered by Mario Maker, Mario Party or Yoshis Yarn (has there been a properly decent Yoshi game since the Snes?) so its much resting on Zelda and Starfox. Xenoblade looks lovely though, I'll admit. I'm not sure if it'll overcome my JRPG fatigue though.

Separately though, across forums, the WiiU line up in the last twelve months has undergone quite a PR turn around it seems as it does get held quite high across forums despite so little having come out. Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World and Bayonetta 2 were all brilliant. Smash, Pikmin 3, NSWBU etc decent but not wowing titles. I think the closer to the back end of the WiiUs life it gets the more I start to view its overall titles list as being pretty weak. There's some gems, but in general I favour what the Nes, Snes, N64 and Cube delivered. I think that's why I have my eye on E3, I need Nintendo to show something I have an active interest in playing. Certainly it feels like this year has the scope to grind the format to a halt if they continue being so lacking in support.

Besides indie developers I find that the least who are "creatively safe" to be PlatinumGames and Nintendo. Treasure Tracker, TW101, Splatoon, SM3DW... Yuji Naka has even got his NiGHTS sequel to finally see the light of day.

If constant HD remakes aren't creatively safe then I don't know what is.

Why are you interested in Starfox? You hardly strike me as the kind who will play through anything repeatedly in a score-attack fashion. No offence.

If I've judged you poorly and you do, you should keep an eye on Rodea, it looks a lot like NiGHTS, but from a Kid Icarus viewpoint. It's a Wii game, but still... You have to buy the WiiU version to get the goods.

No offense taken Usually, unless a game has a world or a narrative I particularly enjoy I don't replay a game repeatedly, preferring to move on to something new. There's been exceptions though like Nights, Crazy Taxi etc which I replayed and poured a lot of time into. The earlier Starfox titles were in the same category, I really enjoyed the playstyle and multi-routes system etc. Thanks to the subsequent games messing with the formula and not really delivering the new Starfox is on my radar purely out of a hope that it will be closer to the first two. If it is then I'll love it.

Rodea is looking like good fun too, I'm hoping it's solidly put together gameplay wise and not too budget like Nights 2 ended up being.

It'd be nice if Nintendo ported Kid Icarus to WiiU, being able to play that game without using claw hand to control it would make it shine.

I think the console is excellent as well exactly because of the games, but it really is a bit dry at the moment. The next game that interests me is Xenoblade and that's not until the autumn or something.

I haven't been posting lately, thus haven't read all the posts. But the Wii U gets a bad rep for the fact that it supposedly lacks games, but it doesn't.

It's got the best 1st party line of any system thus far, admittedly not much I personally care about this year though aside from Zelda and Xenoblade. That's still plenty though and I'm more then satisfied with my Wii U.

The only thing you could argue is regarding the type of games they output, lacking their own AAA mature game, but that's about it...

                  Mario 3d world.
                  Wind Waker HD.
                  W101.
                  Bayonetta 2.
                  Pikmin 3.
                  Mario Kar 8.
                  Smash Bros.
                  Nintendo land.
                  Zombi U.
                  Toads treasure tracker.
                  DK tropical freeze.
NSMB U (excellent score attack mario)
                  Monster hunter 3.

All exclusive and not on anything else. Honestly, not one of those games tickles your fancy? I think people need to be a bit realistic in that the days of revolutionary content like ocarina and Mario 64 are done.

That's all well and good to a degree though- a large majority of them were released years(s) ago- and what if you've played them/done with them- what's next between now and whenever Zelda/Xenoblade appears?

That's the system 'rea'l trouble . I could make a list of great console exclusives to the likes of Mega CD , 3DO but the trouble was the release schedule and 3rd party support just wasn't there , same went for the Dreamcast too .

in a forum like this though, it's likely Wii U isn't the persons only system...

At this point we should accept the Wii U isn't going to pull up any trees with lots of games, content or online infrastructure. It's a solid second system with enough to justify a purchase and that's about it.

Kirby end of this month too apparently.

The Dreamcast's problem was that it wasn't the PS2; and was riding on the back of Sega's, by then, utterly self-fisted reputation. It had loads of third-party support.

The MegaCD and 3D0 were just sh!t. The MegaCD was so bad I traded it for a 3D0...

That's some games there, but nothing really inspiring or exciting... (imo of course!)
