    Ubisoft lineup pulled from Steam

It was reported that Ubisoft would be pulling its fall lineup from Steam in the UK, but now it appears that this is taking affect in all other regions, as well.

    Oh dear, ubisoft...

Competition is good but uplay is worse than GFWL and has **** all games.

I haven't bought an ubi game since the first assassins creed before they went all DRM mad with that series and then launched uplay.

I haven't bought a new ubisoft game in six years*

What idiots, way to cut your income massively overnight. Well done Ubi.

Wasn't uPlay forced anyway, even through Steam?
Anyway, I'm under the impression that more and more publishers are becoming unhappy with Steam, whether they have their own distribution platform or not.

        Ugh, same mistake EA made.

I thought that it was just in the UK that some Ubisoft games weren't listed on Steam but were listed in other major regions. It sounded like this was due to exclusive partnerships rather than choosing not to sell on Steam.

I think its just the fragmented nature of PC digital storefronts. Loads of content that's not on Steam; EA, Blizzard, ArenaNET and others. I completely understand the logic in trying to tie your games to your own storefront particularly if you have big IP like AC and FC.

Also in some ways I think Valve are lazy with Steam. I am not sure that duplicate clients like UPlay shouldn't be allowed on Steam anyway.

I have zero problem with Steam alternatives. As long as those alternatives are not utter ****e. uPlay and Origin fall into the utter ****e category so no thanks.

Luckily their games fall in the utter white category too.

I've used Origin and UPlay for Titanfall and FC3 respectively. Had no problems with either although obviously much prefer Steam and use the features on that. Origin has certainly improved since it first came out. Where as UPlay just feels unnecessary, particularly being insisted upon on top of Steam.

One thing Origin does better than Steam though is their refund policy and offering the ability for a full refund in a certain time frame.

and i bet they will still blame piracy for the lack of sales

You mean like AC Black Flag? I think they only have themselves to blame for that piracy...
