I'm surprised so many of you dislike the UI. I actually prefer it to the 360... It could be quicker and the store is a mess (admittedly I just buy stuff on smart glass) but the actual layout to me is fine. I do think they should change up the pins section a little but otherwise it's good.

Kinect, I hated it at the start but now it recognises my accent and there are other shortcuts to main controls I find it's better overall. Yes using it less is better, but not having it at all I think would be worse for some things.

There's still a tonne of things they can do to improve things but I think from launch to now it's arguably had the better year, mainly because they had no choice.

Own one but the ps4 is used so much more. The xbox feels like a xbox 360 sport model and the ps4 a new machine. The ps4 pad is also a giant leap forward. Keeping the one for the forza, halo and gears franchise.

Maybe that's because the original was never any good

I've never liked any PlayStation pad but saying that I've never held the PS4 one yet. One thing that does really piss me off when playing on my Sony consoles is that the accept and cancel buttons in games are backwards! The button on the left should be accept with the one on the right being cancel. All consoles are like this but not the Sony systems. Many a time I keep pressing cancel when I want to press accept in a game because of an automatic reaction from playing so many other systems. If you've only ever really played Sony consoles this wouldn't be an issue but it sure is for me.

Not sure if you're aware of it but that isn't the same here. Only in Japan is Circle confirm and Cross cancel.

Though it can leak through, look at a PAL copy of Metal Gear Solid.

Really? Why is that I wonder when other Japanese consoles never did it? When Capcom ported Bio Hazard to the Saturn it kept the backwards ass button configuration making it a right annoyance in the heat of the moment.

It's the same as Nintendo consoles. A is confirm and B is back, and they're situated on the right hand side of the cross layout and the bottom of it respectively.

Also I guess they made it like that in Japan because a circle is like a tick, right? So it made more sense.

                  Yup!!

In an interview with Teiyu Goto, designer of the original PlayStation Controller, he explained what the symbols mean: The circle and cross represent "yes" and "no," respectively; the triangle symbolizes a point of view and the square is equated to a sheet of paper there to be used to access menus.
