Games you didn't understand, but kept playing loads anyway

This problem probably only came up when you were younger and there was an arcade machine that kept attracting you, but you had no idea of you were doing it right when playing. However, you kept coming back for more. Maybe this happened just today.

Tetris (arcade) - there was an arcade version where you could win money on. This was before the GB times. Not sure why the hell I kept going back. Maybe the colourful shapes, maybe the fact it was a video game I could win money from.

Anyway, I had no idea what I had to do. Spell out words with shapes for all I knew. Like a wally, I kept going back .

I think NiGHTS will be a common one here. I played when I was about 14, with no idea of how the scoring system worked, really. The bosses seemed to just randomly appear!

Faxanadu. I kept renting it as a kid, but not knowing English hampered my progress through the game pretty badly; was able to discore a trick where the king would give you more money if you spent all the initial amount and then went back to him before leaving the city.

Similar, but to a lesser extent, Simon's Quest: rented it only once, couldn't progress very far, so abandoned it. I was kinda happy when the Angry Nintendo Nerd confirmed that the game was criptic even for someone with knowledge of the language.

I guess that all the import games I play now kinda count, though it's mostly story related, and not related to the games themselves.

Spy vs. Spy on the Commodore 64.

Had to have been anywhere between 5 and 7 when I first played it. Didn't have a clue about what was going on or what to do and got routinely thrashed by my older sister at it.

I love the Tales of -series. It's a guilty pleasure with the tropes and mediocre stories. However, I've always been addicted to the battle system so I've pretty much played all the Tales games first in Japanese, and many of them for more then 100 hours. I only have a vague idea of what's going on, but getting the next tier of weapons and new techs keeps me going.

Red Seeds Profile on the 360. No idea what the hell was going on at some points but man, what a great game. I really need to play through it again.
