How does Square follow up on two popular FF themed entries on the 3DS when the music choice starts to grow smaller? Change franchise! Square Enix has announced that the next 3DS music game entry will instead be based on the sounds of the Dragon Quest series.



The game will be playable by the end of the year at the Jump Festa Expo so gameplay footage should hit soon whilst the retail release in Japan is set for March 26th

Hmm... I don't know the Dragon Quest series all that well. Is it big enough with as defining music to sustain a Theatrhythm that could come even close to Curtain Call? I guess it doesn't have to. It just needs to deliver for Dragon Quest fans. Definitely interesting that they are branching out like this. I half expected a Kingdom Hearts version but some tracks might be trickier due to licensing.

But where is my FFTA music, Squeenix? Where?!

I don't really like the DQ music much, I can't imagine it will fill a game will lots of variety.
