Huge fan of the game so this is sad news indeed if you don't already have it on PSN or XBLA, now would be the time to download it.

It will be removed from sales on Christmas eve.

In a sad move, Sega will be removing the arcade port of After Burner Climax from both XBLA and PSN on this coming Christmas Eve. Rumors of licensing issues, due to some of the planes used, appear to the main cause behind this. The news was broken via Noriyuki Shimoda’s Twitter [...]

Yeah, this was announced a few weeks back.

Enjoyed playing the coin-op so I'll probably look to pick this up between now and next week.

I have great memories completing this when it came out in the arcades in Japan, with the tilty cab, great experience. Can't they just patch the names of the planes out to something else?

If you've already bought it you'll be able to re-download it whenever you like (or at least until Sony/MS stop their online service entirely) I'd have thought?

This and OutRun falling into the same trap I guess Ferrari F355 too. Desperate to see an HD version of F355 licensing will prevent it I guess though. Luckily got After burner. But yeah Arcade Cab is awesome great fun on PS3 too.

Yes, I believe this is true. Sadly I missed out on Voltron before THQ tanked

This is one of the prettiest looking games I've ever played but I didn't think much of the gameplay. Played it in the arcade too with the fancy moving cockpit at ?2 a go.

Was about to say if your planning on getting it buy it quick, last time I was going to buy a game that was being delisted,on a specific day it I left it too late as it got pulled early....Well guess what's just happened?
XBLA version is gone, PSN version is still available.
