      Getting online is easy as Charles says, you can enable personal hotspot in a few seconds on phones running recent versions of Android or iOS.

      This is good news, but if you buy import titles and come to rely on it, you'll be in a PSP type situation where you're dodging firmware updates forever.

        The problem will come depending on the games you use as some now demand that you update them before it will even play, my copy of youkai watch shinuchi brought up a menu saying that it needed to update. It then updated from the actual cart itself, it's the first time i have ever seen a game do that, it was different to the usual patch screen that comes up asking if you want to goto the eshop because there is an update available.

              Then you're going to love the new version as not only do you get 30 totally new levels there will be 70 old ones from the GBA, Wii & DS versions as well, the GBA ones are getting a graphical rehaul. Pretty excited over it coming.
