    Radiohead on video games

I was at a BBC1 Radiohead show on Monday night, with a funky Q&A thing afterwards.
Someone muttered the question "What do you want for Christmas?"
Thom (lead singer) said "A Playstation."
It was most amusing to see Jonny (guitarist) nervously tell Thom that the Gamecube's much better than the PS2, because it's got more good games. (His own words )
Then they started reminiscing about how they'd gone to Miami and recognised it from Vice City.
    Naturally, I was cracking up.

It's all on the BBC Radio1 website if you want to hear. They broadcast it last night.
    The gig beforehand was excellent.
I was very lucky to be there

There is a lot of video game talk going down on radio and tv at the mo.

On RI:SE this morning Ian Lee (is that his name?) and Lawler were testing out games. They played Mario Kart Double Dash and were raving over it. Lawler seemed to be enjoying herself (bosh) and said its nice and easy to control. Then they said something about do you knwo what Mario's first game was and Lawler replied Donkey Kong (good girl or well trained?). Then she mentioned a Mario game she had played recently that was really cool and Lee said "Did it involve sucking up ghosts?" and she said "No you had to clean up gunge with a spray". Then he plugged the Gamecube..."Its only 59 quid now with 4 games" (must be talking the boots zelda box deal) " very underrated console, everyone should go and buy one".

Then they covered top spin tennis but I left the house at that point. Lawler said how great the graphics were. Lee mentioned online play. Lawler said "What so like me and you could play each other?" "Yeh". Ermmm They were anyway in the studio

    Thats all I saw!

Looks like Rise are trying to make up for the terrible games review spot I saw the other morning. Ian Lee held up Viewtiful Joe and said that it was rubbish and then admitted he was basing this opinion on the box art! ft:

I thought all those dreadful gaffs in Thumb Bandits disspelled the myth that Iain Lee was a dedicated gamer clued up on his knowledge long ago...

Still, Rise's current spot on gaming isn't anywhere near as bad as what coverage it used to get before the show revamp. I distinctly remember that irritating Collin Murray interviewing Adam & Joe and then continually brandishing about the Words 'Grand Theft Auto III', because he presumed it symbolic of everything contained within the videogame scene.

Quite frankly, that was an embarassing moment. Yes, even by Rise standards.

Heh, I can't decide if Iain Lee is really witty or really obnoxious.

Since Rie is getting taken off air in the New Year, Ch4 Bosses and viewers must think the latter.

Iain Lee makes me laugh every morning without fail, i'll really miss rise even thgough I hated the big breakfast in all its incarnations.

BBC news is awful now Jerremy Bowen has left and it really panders to the daily mail readership, gmtv.....omg words havent been invented to describe this tat.

Nope it's Rise or noddy for me, or that weird Ausitralian kids thing on 5!

                (oops a bit ot there!)

Yeah, I guess. Though I'm not usually up every day early enough.

Plus Dougie's getting more bearable/funny... he used to make me cringe interviewing Hollywood stars a couple of months ago.
And Kate's getting less dense (unless it was an act :P) although she seems to get pissed off too easily which reminds me of someone who used to do that at secondary school, and I swear it's a self-defence mechanism to avoid looking thick. :P

Radio, people. Its far better than any of the breakfast TV channels.

Personally, I'm a Radio 5 person, as I like the way they cover the same real news stories as 4 (rather than the meaningless fluff you get most places), but still sound relaxed and chatty as they do so.

Awww, you should've got a hold of an image of the train robbery bonus game in the really old Infogrames game; 'North and South'. I loved that game...

From what I can tell from Murray on the radio that's the only game he plays... Doesn't make it any better, but explains a few things.

I remember that. I only played it for the train bit. You raced against a shoe.
