That is an incredible collection from so many eras. A huge amount of real treats in there and a great price. If I had Xbox One, I'd be all over this.

Plus there are analytics in almost every game nowadays.

I generally don't like them, but I think this is a great collection for the fans.
I don't begrudge the collection? I just said I think it's partly market research to see if it's worth MS moving Rare back to working on their old "core" franchises now the Kinect/Wii/Casual money has moved away and I don't think that's a bad thing, I'd probably be interested in playing those games, especially new Conker or new Banjo.

I never said anything about the value/price of it at all. I think it's great value, personally I only like Rare's N64 era platformers and I already bought the Banjo games on XBLA (I enjoyed them massively, probably two of my all-time favourite retro games).

I also never commented on the quality of Earthbound Beginnings, I probably don't think it is much good on balance, I said I won't be buying that either but then I wasn't saying Nintendo were pathetic or whatever for releasing a never before released game (outside of Japan) for the price of two lattes at Starbucks.

Yes indeed as much as I like Nintendo even I think Virtual Console is a rip off and this collection is great value. Some really great games in there and a few turkeys too, quite a lot of omissions due to licensing issues and no SNES games either which is interesting. Still not enough to get me to buy a Xbox one sadly, but if you have one it's a must purchase if your a fan of RARE.

If they sort out the Perfect Dark controls - they were weirdly fubared in the 360 version - I will be all over this. Well, I'll be all over it for the 3D adventure games, but that would be the icing

Perhaps Nintendo could do some market research and gives us a new Metroid and F-Zero.

I'll pick it up just to play Blast Corps again...missing that last couple of golds still haunts me!

nail on head. If nintendo had announced it, we never would have heard the end of it, lol

So will they fix the blurry graphics and low framerates on some of these or is it literally N64 slapped on a disk?

Are Rare games even that good?

I mean, it may be a consolation prize for actually buying an Xbox One but that aside wouldn't you rather just see some games you haven't played?

It's not nessesarily an either/or choice and, yeah, a bunch of them are very good.

Nintendo fanboys are hilarious. You've got to be some sort of idiot if you think this represents poor value for money. Even if they are bog-standard ports it's a cracking collection of games for the price. More so when you consider how much the VC games (which are also decent value) are.

Some of them are fun but you'll notice how people are focusing on the same handful of N64-era games with this announcement. I'm sure that Spectrum owners are scoffing and turning back to their emulators as we speak.
