RARE have made some really nice, fun games over the years, so I'll be buying this collection. There are a few that I won't play, and some that will offer nothing more than a small slice of nostalgia now and then. But there are also a lot of games in this collection that I will play quite a bit and still have fun with. For people who've got fond memories of playing lots of these games, this collection is golden.

its a strange one as there are loads of old NES games here too but then we have already seen Perfect dark and Banjokazooie on the xbox 360 so it must not be an issue. I suppose its the same sort of thing as the conversions we used to see back in the day, the pc version of crazy taxi wasn't running off a Dreamcast emulator neither was the xbox 360 version.
interestingly if these games did come out on the virtual console we would be looking at over ?150 worth of downloads!!! it makes that ?18.00 price point all the more amazing.

Platform holders can't usually oppose emulators, legally, due to how they work. An emulator for the N64 isn't an emulator for a console; it's an emulator for the chips inside, which Nintendo will have obtained from someone else.
They can only oppose them if the hardware is completely bespoke, or if the emulator uses some element of the console's firmware or BIOS, because those belong to the platform holder.

Right. There is NO CODE in the box. All the games are available from the disc. Not sure if there is a download though - my kids were watching netflix when I put the disc in and then I came back to it later.
I blew their minds by firing up one of the emulated Xbox360 games - they saw the Xbox360 logo and went nuts - how is this possible daddy? etc. etc. It goes off and gets your Xbox360 data and the individual game appears on the XboxONE as a recently played tile.
I wonder if it will appear on my Xbox360 in recently played somehow
