[PS3, PS4, PSV] Odin Sphere Leifdrasir

It was teased last week on Twitter with the "Atlus x Vanillaware HD" monicker, and now there's the official news.
Atlus and Vanillaware are remastering Odin Sphere for the current lineup of Sony consoles, and according to them it won't be a simple upscale of the PS2 game.
The game will ship in Japan on January 14th, 2016 for 7980yen; preorders will include an artbook (which looks very similar to the one included with the PS2 version).

Famitsu published some more infos. First, there will be a remastered version, with new enemies and tweaks and the original PS2 version (with HD graphics) on the same disc.
The new enemies were actually designed for the original, but were scrappd from the final version; most of them will be midbosses; existing enemies will benefit from a new AI; controls have been tweaked to feel more similar to Muramasa or Dragon's Crown.

Any chance of this getting a western release or English subs?

Good I'd say, being handled directly by Atlus Japan.

To give you an excuse to buy a PS4?

Always felt I should've had a crack at this before, so maybe this is the time. That said, Muramasa gave me the same feeling but I ended up not really getting into that. We'll see...

I always buy and play Vanillaware games but never really get on with them. However I've always wanted to try this so I'll probably do the same thing again.

Odin Sphere has multiple characters that play differently, and some of its mechanics weren't in Muramasa (at least the Wii version); OS was also much bigger in scale, probably the biggest Vanillaware game ever (maybe with the exception of Grand Knight Historia, but that never reached western shores). I'll just be happy if they remove the terrible slowdowns of the PS2 version, that alone will change a lot.

Confirmed by American release by Atlus during 2016. No hard date yet.

Really looking forward to this. Muramasa and Dragon's Crown are two of my favourite games from recent years, and with all the improvements being made to Odin Sphere it should hopefully be another gem.
