This is interesting, IIRC Cave decided to stop development of shooters for arcades and consoles to focus on mobile games and/or panchinko slots. It'll also be interesting to see what they come up with with all the old developers now in other studios. -

New Cave shooter new available on iOS! Dodonpachi Ichimenbanchou. Free to buy with in game currency to upgrade your craft. Not real money purchases I should point out. Little advert videos at the end of each level.
Plays very much like you would expect but doesn't seem to have the usual donpachi spread shot and laser. Typically responsive controls as with all of Caves iOS games. Need to sink a bit more time into this.

I guess previous Android releases didn't do well enough to justify the effort.
On the new game front it seems like your meter on the left has replaced the old chain meter. It fills and empties as your chain builds and breaks. I might be mistaken but it also seems like you need to finish the level with a certain percentage in the meter to unlock the next level.
The post game see you click on a random card to watch an advert to claim some more in game credit so you can level up the various aspects of your aircraft.
Anyone else tried this on their iPad yet? I'm finding the menu screen to be quite unresponsive for some reason.Comment
