Game of the Year 2015
2015 is drawing to a close and it has been a notable year in gaming for a number of reasons. One of the key things it is likely to be remembered for is the number of long dreamed about revivals that have taken place, the end products of which will hit us over the coming years such as Shenmue 3, Star Fox Zero, Psychonauts 2, Final Fantasy VII and even as a homage such as Yooka Laylee. It is also the year where we started to see the horizon start to fill up with the image of a new Nintendo home console as they seek to rebuild the customer base they once held.
For me, 2015 has delivered a steady stream of games I’ve enjoyed playing but for the flip side of the coin it is the year which I will remember for having a steady string of AAA disappointments. Titles like Witcher 3, MetalGear Solid V and Battlefield Hardline, whilst technically solid, left me feeling empty inside. Not a banner year for me but not as weak as 2014 felt.
However, the year is drawing to a close and with a crammed 2016 lying ahead of us it is time to thin the ranks to come up with our game of the year voting selections.
I took the opportunity to look through some of the previous years voting threads to put together a bit of a structure for this one so we can clearly identify winners in each category. Below you will find the 2015 voting brackets.
The 2015 Game of the Year Voting Brackets are:
(Note: Voting is on a ranked/points system. Place your selections in the order you would rank them, brackets are scaled, i.e your number 1 choice receives 5 points, 2nd choice 4 points etc. Selected games must have been released in at least one territory during 2015)
