And surely it would have been so cheap to port them. Guessing how many to print would be the only risk.

I quite liked the wifi controller when used correctly on regular games as it was much better than relying on analogs for stuff like aiming but also wish stuff like Mario Galaxy had regular controller support because sometimes it's just more comfortable that way.
The console itself was relegated to the idea of gimmick quite quickly but there were some cracking titles plus I really dig the looks and form factor of it. Lots of shovel ware plus the lazy Nintendo development really shines through on a lot of titles that were straight up money grabs.
If if they release something nice and powerful as a follow up it would be nice to see it run wii games via bc with all the hi resolution tweaks and what not as some of them look stunning.
I I was looking forward to f zero on this one as it would have been perfect for the controller.

Virtual Console software and possibly HD ports will most likely be the only way we see Wii games on NX.

At this point I'm working off the assumption WiiU titles will be held back for rereleases rather than having backwards compatibility. XBO and PS4 have proven there's goodwill to be had from the function but I expect Nintendo will want to distance NX from WiiU.
Hopefully we'll finally get a proper Galaxy collection.

I could be swayed by a Super Mario Galaxy HD collection, but I've said it time and again - Nintendo are missing a trick by not making a Super Mario Sunshine HD. The colours would absolutely pop on screen if done right.

3D Mario doesn't really shift units like it used to though. Which is a shame as it's one of my favourite game franchises.
Insane that bland modern 2D Mario outsells the 3D Marios.

If they aren't doing well with 3D Marios, I'd say it's simply because they aren't trying.
The gap was smaller between NSMBU and Super Mario 3D World but NSMBU still shipped more copies.
Modern 2D Mario consistently outselling Modern 3D Mario has to be one of gaming's greatest mysteries.
The N64 and the GC didn't get 2D Mario games so SM64 and Sunshine don't count, surely?
