forza 6 very slow car - possible spoilers

hello all
i have been competing in the professional racing series using the Ferrari 458 Italia. on the 5th race (Bathurst) my car is suddenly around 50mph slower than the other cars - its as if the handbrake is on. I am approximately 19th at the first corner, after starting 12th!

any ideas why? i havent changed any settings, apart from switching off rewinds ages ago
