It's a shame that with BF4, the only maps that ever seems to be populated these days are Siege of Shanghai or Flood Zone.

Completing all of the "Road to Battlefield V" missions in BF4 or BF1 this month will unlock you two premium Paratrooper outfits for Battlefield V. Each token can be traded for 1 of 8 different outfits at launch, these include British SAS and German Airborne sets. These are the sets that come with the Deluxe edition, or they will cost you real money when the game is out.Last edited by Adam; 09-10-2018, 23:24.

Played a couple of hours of Battlefield V last night via EA Access, and I like what I've experienced so far - the maps this time around are great, Dice has definitely done a good job with that aspect. Plenty of vehicles scattered around most of the maps and the tanks are much better than the BF1 skips.
It looks like unlocks are going to be pretty slow and there is a limited number of weapons available to use, especially when you're starting (BF4 has a much larger and deeper armoury), but there didn't seem to be the same in your face open this battlecrate stuff there's been in the recent games.
I did have a few connection issues with the game not starting a third round properly and having to wait over five minutes for the matchmaking to work. Quitting and starting rounds, which was lightening quick in the beta, is now back to BF1 timings (this is not good).
Overall, I like the game and how it plays. Hate the three tier availability based on which version of the game you get.

Yeah I smashed a couple of hours on the X through my extremely under-utilised EA access. Was OK that Hamada map needs some more vehilces it's far too big. A couple of other new maps that weren't in the beta were pretty good. Have they changed the medic bandage? You cannot spam anymore it's a bit weird I hope they fix it. medium range gun play on medic was ok I think there are balance issues for sure around the different classes. Hit detection was very hit and miss.
I'll do my 10 free hours and pick it up cheap next year sometime I think. Wait and see what extra new stuff they've added.
BTW no Aussie troops in North Africa
edit: yes I agree TA looks pretty good on X

I've found the hit detection pretty spot on - headshots mean TTK is very fast, body shots less so. The assault class with the semi-auto rifle and scope is pretty deadly; easier to handle than the sniper rifle making one shot kills to the head at medium range achievable - if anything this weapon needs gimping a bit, so I'm surprised there aren't more people using the combo. Add the specialist fast bullets and grips and it's more potent.
Not sure about the medic class as it's not one I usually play, but in a squad, you can revive any of your squad mates and you don't need to be the medic class to do it.
They've really sorted out environment destruction in this game too (without "teh powah of the cloud" nonsense), in fact this can be pretty strategic - one game I was in last night the enemy was using a row of building to snipe people from the windows, so we took out the front of the buildings, completely destroyed the cover they were using and they stopped using it.
Bit disappointing that the battle royale mode isn't being released until March next year, so I'm a bit weary of paying full price for an incomplete game.Last edited by MartyG; 11-11-2018, 09:56.

Medic is ****en garbage. The smgs are really really bad. I am constantly getting one shotted whilst my pop gun unloads a whole mag for bugger all damage. I might have some time left in my trial I'll try out assault or support. Then I'll be waiting for a sale next year ; there's nothing compelling enough to make me invest immediately.
