If Sony pull off a transition that smooth I'll be over the moon. Pretty smart of them if they do too.

Unrelated to PS5 I think, but apparently Sony filed a patent for a VR haptic feedback glove in 2015.

some more info about BC on PS5 here:
PS5 will offer backward compatibility with the PS4 and Sony has confirmed it along with showing a video detailing the load times difference. They have
I guess its saying that developers can test a PS4 game on the PS5 and use the PS5 hardware itself to push the game a bit harder, within the confines of the original code. Rather than having to go and tweak the game code. So if a game is coded to run at 60fps, but the ps4 locks it at 30fps, then the PS5 will run it at 60fps.
I'd like to see the PS5 add some 'on the fly' enhancements too.

Much like the BC on Xbox One if a game has an unlocked frame rate the newer system should allow it to run faster. That patent seems to suggest that developers can experiment with various parameters per game within the PS5 OS and see if they can get the game to run at a higher frame rate. If the game has a lock or the internal physics is coded to work at a specific rate that might not be possible. Improved loading times and streaming of assets should be doable for pretty much any game though. Nice to have.
