Then they'll either have to develop two versions, one with and without multiple assets. Or hamper the seriesX version.

Not an issue for Infinite though because it is an Xbox One game spruced to run on Series X so by the time Halo 7 comes around MS will potentially have moved on

I don't know why you even bother. Deep down we all know it will only be for a handful of 1st party titles; games that have been long in development and where the Pre-prep design work wasn't done with SSD loading in mind. Those titles will just look to make more use of the 12 Teraflops to show off the Hardware.

Going forward, MS will simply just have to slap a 'Requires SSD' logo on the PC line. Not too different from how MS had to do similar moves for 360 Arcade owners, needed to play Halo 3/Crackdown full online features or looking to play GTV on the 360.
You needed a HD or USB Stick and just slap the logo on the back of the game

Then you get a call from MS telling you it has to work on the Xbone and on PC.
          Do you scale it back?
          Do you create two versions?
Do you hope that people buy new SSD?
None of the above. You take the cash and release a last min heap and maybe fix it in a few years when your install base gives you more money.

                      From the PS Blog:

"Hi all – thanks for being patient and understanding while we rescheduled this PS5 event for Thursday, June 11 at 1pm Pacific Time / 9pm BST. We needed to step aside so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time.

Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.

It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.

Anyway, enough talk! An updated version of Jim’s original post follows below. See you Thursday!"

Console games possibly being hobbled to cater for average PC specs? Exciting times

It hasn't been that way for years, has it? How long has it been since the average PC couldn't run games as well as consoles of the time? SNES/MD days?

So do we think the Amazon UK placeholder price “ leak “ was real or fake ?

Fake. It listed it as a 2TB unit which isn't right.

Nah. £599 is too high. I'd expect them to take the Gillette approach and sell at a loss to get customers buying the extras.
Also is was listed as having a 2TB SSD which it doesn't have.
                                Edit: beat me to it
