Hopefully more and more of it will arrive on the Switch

      Or any format, really.

Lol, same here. I had the Elite model (still have it) and the got a black redesigned one.

I have 3 360s (I don't know how or why I have 3, it wasn't even a console I remember wanting) and all 3 are still working (last I checked)!

Mine is dead but it's the power supply that went, I think. I could probably replace that but it was the original 360 model and seemingly not all that easy to get. Or at least it wasn't when I last looked.

Maybe this is why GP is being pushed by MS...there are no working 360s in the wild to play.

Thanks so much for pointing out that Podcast.

Just listened to it and Mark was fantastic in it. If true, Yuji comes across as a monumental cock in that. I love how open the industry is now to telling stories now enough time has passed. Stories like that, that's so small but so significant, inform so much of someone or the power they yield.

I presume others have done simular and far worse too.

This kind of thing can be a motivator.

Microsoft have an advantage here because of the the Xbox's somewhat unremarkable hardware ethos; the original Xbox was a specialised PC, and all the subsequent machines have followed suit (I mean it was conceived as "the DirectXbox", i.e. an all-in-one machine to run DirectX media software). That means backwards compatability for them is just easier than it is for the other manufacturers.

Similarly, it's probably why one of the levels on Sonic Generations was Crisis City - a level from Sonic '06, the worst game of the franchise - there are better games to choose from, but that was one people could still buy.

The 360 had a PowerPC chip in it. They've had to do some work to get the very next gen of their hardware to play powerpc games. Kudos to them.

Oh there's work, absolutely - I wouldn't suggest there isn't. I just mean that the architecture of the Xbox/Xbox 360 is much more straightforward than the PS2/PS3.

Oh I thought you were saying they started off with basically a pc and kept
                          It that way.

Well yeah? I mean the Mac computers were PowerPC architecture back then, but they were still Personal Computers. The Amiga revivals were Personal Computers. That architecture is still far more consistent across the Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One than on the PS1, 2 and 3, which were more old-school consoles and different from the ground-up.

I think it's pretty fair to say it's easier for a modern machine to run Xbox games than PS2, and it's because the Xbox is conceptually closer, hardware-wise, to a gaming PC than the PS2 was.

Were the jap games region locked?

Most of them, yes. I had to order a Japanese X360 from I think Play Asia to partake into some Cave goodness.
