Gonna say... I would expect this to look great on release. As much as there is to pull Rockstar and Take Two up on with their approaches etc it's really hard to imagine that GTA6 would release looking less than great after RDR2

Anyone judging what GTA6 is going to be like based on this leak needs to have a serious word with themselves - it's like judging how good Ferrari's 2025 car is going to drive based on getting a look at a bucket of the paint.

It's years away from being on the shelves.

It’s going to be much the same as 5 I expect, their not going to reinvent the wheel as as all the no lifers will moan “it’s different”.

Rockstar should be proud in a way

Take Two have stated that they expect a small increase this financial year in earnings due to several high profile releases.

Most notably though, they have projected a massive leap in earnings for the next financial year running April 2024 to March 2025 referring to that year as a highly anticipated one for the company

GTA5 has no right to sell 180m copies, it’s a disgusting figure.

                    It's 3 console generations old!

It's like buying an album on vinyl then tape then CD!

I can't help but admire the GTAV model. It was built with such great foundations it has stayed relevant for 10 years. Rockstar games must cost so much to make it makes good sense. You get this extraordinary playground ... but you don't get a new one every few years. It refines and devlops with the market and tech.

180m copies worth though? I don’t know how it’s done it, it’s hardly of that calibre to do those numbers. I mean who’s playing this still as well? I thought the online was just griefers left in their own little world of griefing and everyone else had been pushed off effectively.

I just assumed the online community is pretty healthy ... I've never dabbled (not a big online gamer) but it sounds amazing.

It was a massive selling game on the PS3/Xbox 360 era, but then it really reinvented itself and heavily focussing on the online section for the PS4/Xbox One.

It had established itself enough that regular players would want to upgrade for the current gen.

I played and enjoyed the single-player on 360, but had an absolute blast playing with friends on the PS4.
There are a lot of griefers if you just wander in, but you can also do a lot of stuff away from the madding crowd.

Me and my friends had such a good time playing it.
We planned casino heists, saved the world from armageddon, joined and underground racing scene, built our own race tracks and raced on other people's, owned several buildings including a nightclub, arcade and secret underground bunker, we robbed a drug dealer on his private island, we bought cars and jets with all sorts of gadgets.

It's a LOT of fun and it's not all about the grind like some games.

It was exciting, tense, engaging and had us crying with laughter at some of the crap we got up to.

I can 100% understand why people would want to play and rebuy with each generation, but also if you could sample just how fun it can be, beyond your preconceptions, then you'd be as enthusiastic about it too.

Number of copies sold or revenue generated has never been a measure of quality, no matter the medium. In games, I think Disco Elysium is one of the best ever, but I wouldn't expect it to do Minecraft numbers because it's not particularly mass market.

Although I've never played GTA Online, I've got a ton of respect for what Rockstar have achieved with this game. It feels like a lifetime ago that I got my PS3 copy home on launch day and fired it up, bouncing across the dunes to All Saints' Pure Shores and being blown away by this incredible new playground.

For that same game to still be relevant 10 years later is a genuinely remarkable achievement.

The news about the release date is intriguing - fewer than eighteen months from now it will finally be here. I wonder if it will be any good?

I played it on launch Ps3 round my mates and thought it was an unplayable bucket of crap technically and never bought it, ps4 version was no better. I played a few hours on PS5 version but I still don’t see the fascination at all. It’s not for me I guess, it’s good, but not 180m good.

If 6 doesn’t have 60fps on launch then that won’t even get a look in either.
