I think that's what is causing the puzzlement given how quickly hackers were able to get Mario 64 running natively on the Switch using its source code and implement these updates and yet Nintendo hasn't

Yeah that is interesting. They should have hired some of the modding talent out there instead of just threatening with law suits.

I saw you could mop up star bits in Mario Galaxy by simply touching the screen which is a nice erm touch.
64 will probably be the last one I play. Sunshine is the one I haven't played for the longest amount of time (since release basically) and I'm quite fond of it so that'll be first. Might even go for 100% completion (with the help of a guide.)

Gonna play them in standard order. 64 > Sunshine > Galaxy.

I haven't played SM64 in ages. I had intended to download it during the dying days of the Wii Virtual Console but forgot to do so. Weirdly enough, part of me is tempted to snag a cheap copy of SM64 DS up for comparison's sake.

It's also been a long time since I played Sunshine and Galaxy. IIRC, I did enough in those games (60 Shines/Stars) to see an ending but didn't do the full 120 completion - will obviously be looking to rectify that asap!

A given but definitive confirmation is at least in now - Sunshine = 30fps

              Source?

Not saying you're wrong - I think we all expect this - but I haven't seen anything officially confirm this.

Just rad it ove ron Era as they're digging through the leaked code of the game. Apparently it uses the PAL 60hz version of the game rather than the 50hz one

Yes definitely playing in order as I did get 120 stars back in the day. Never finished sunshine or galaxy so will be doing so this time around

Found it, a couple of pages someone mentions hackers have already managed to swap Sunshines rom for other GC games and they ran fine. Will be checking if that's true later.

So, effectively ROM/ISO dumps running on an emulator.

Galaxy 2 would have required at least some work in getting Yoshi's tongue to play nicely, as the Joycon pointer is beyond terrible.

Let's hope a little more effort is put into the 50th anniversary.

I thought they'd been actually ported at least. An emulator

Picturing a smokey room at Nintendo and there's a work experience kid in the corner tasked with making 3D All-Stars happen.

Shopto have apparently shipped my copy. Surely not.

Oh man, if Sunshine is 30fps I might just whack mine straight on eBay. This seems to have gotten worse with every bit of news

You can finally use a button to spin in Galaxy. 'Y' in this case. So long carpel tunnel.
